Which is typically more senior: Chief Technology Officer or Chief Software Architect?

Is one typically senior to the other? Are they equal seniority? Or does it depend on the company?

Usually, the Chief Technology Officer is senior. Since software is usually only a part of a company’s technology, the Chief Software Architect may report directly or through an intermediary to the CTO.
