Im no ceo and have no deg. all i see right now is that some of our work that used to be done in this country is now done in brazil. ie. aviation engine overhaul. one ge plant to another but one with cheaper labor and no union.blaming the union for lack of quality and competitiveness is a CROCK! and americans may spend a lot but thats not hard to do. a decent family home 150k,vehicles 40k upkeep, utilities, activities, cell&net etc.. where do we save for our kids engineering education after that.

Some of what he says is good but most is bullshit lobbying for obumma’s economic board which he is part of. sounds like obumma’s speech writer wrote the speech for him.

Normally I don’t watch CEO speeches. They’re understandably boring. But living in the UP of MI, I forced myself to sit thru this. Most of this was based on a global econimic scale. This is where the break down is. Growth opposed to maintaining local industry. There is no more growth in America, we are a nation based upon maintaining standards. Growth is globally now. If GE can pull off basic maintenence, America might just revive.. At least in MI.
